Full job description

The College of Business at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is now accepting applications for a 9-month full-time, fixed-term Senior Instructor II in the Agriculture Entrepreneurship (AE) degree program. The AE program is a newer degree program at EOU and has shown rapid growth as the curriculum has evolved and been further refined to position its graduates to be competitive in the current and future agriculture job market.

This position complements our current AE faculty expertise and expands the program’s ability to provide applied, real-world innovative content and programming to develop the next generation of agriculture leaders, managers and entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will bring expertise and/or experience in the following agriculture areas: agriculture finance and financial management, agriculture marketing and commodity trading, risk management, and global agriculture trade and policies. The ideal candidate will have some industry experience, along with the ability to develop networking and partnership collaborations with private, public and industry representatives.

The primary responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses (primarily on-campus with online options) in agriculture finance, marketing, and management, along with refining and teaching courses in global agriculture management, trade and policies. Introductory undergraduate courses in general data management and analysis, and Introduction to Business will also be required of the candidate. In addition to the above teaching responsibilities, the candidate will also advise and mentor undergraduate students in the AE degree, help develop new AE programming and outreach opportunities, network with industry professionals and organizations, and help market and promote EOU and the AE program to regional high schools, community colleges and community members.
Depending on future AE program growth, funding and other considerations, an incumbent with a Ph.D. may be eligible for review for conversion to a full-time, tenure-track faculty position.
