Job Summary
Adult Education (AE) Facilitators scaffold students to become independent learners and to transition from tutorial support as they enter CCRI pathways. The CCRI Bridge 2 facilitators provide foundational skills instruction for students preparing for high school equivalency (GED) exams and transition into college.
Duties and Responsibilities
Bridge Program Facilitator PM (15 hrs/wk )
Liston campus (Providence) Monday – Wednesday evenings. Work with a dedicated professional team of adult educators to facilitate Bridge 2 classes that prepare for high school equivalency and transition to college! 3 hours of instruction per night with 6 additional hours of prep / meeting time per week. One hour meeting per week during office hours 8 AM – 4PM.
Direct Instruction (9 hrs/wk)

Direct Instruction (9 hrs/wk)
- Facilitate classes of 18-22 students learning and practicing math and literacy skills to prepare for GED exams and college enrollment.
- Use best-practice approaches to facilitation including: Teaching the Skills that Matter, CALM math, & Northstar curricula (CCRI will provide training).
- Determine students’ level of proficiency and adjust activities accordingly to meet the needs of English Language Learner, Adult Basic Education and Adult Secondary Education students.
- Model and support skills and attitudes necessary for lifelong learning, and facilitate development of self-directed learning practices.
Planning & Program Support (6 hrs/wk)
- Collaborate with CCRI Adult Education staff to deliver credit and non-credit programs integrating workforce training foundational academics, & digital literacy skills.
- Conduct CASAS pre- and post- testing (paper and digital).
- Collaborate with Adult Education team to evaluate and generate educational options for students.
- Support students to articulate education and training goals using current and relevant vocational information.
- Participate in adult education and corrections related professional development & training.
Technology:
- Use Google and other digital platforms to work with students and with Bridge team.
- Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate and use information resources to support research and learning.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Comfort solving problems using high school geometry, algebra required.
- Experience motivating students in the learning process and understanding of differentiation and universal design required.
- Excellent interpersonal communications required.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Google G-Suite and/or Microsoft Office is required.
- Three years of experience working with adult students or adults with learning difficulties preferred.
- Experience with adult education curriculum for Northstar, Teaching the Skills that Matter, CASAS Competencies preferred.
