How you will make an impact

The Associate Director, Project Management leads the planning, development, and timely execution of various internal and external projects within Halozyme to support corporate priorities and objectives. In this role, you support projects across all functional areas, ensuring appropriate prioritization of resources and timely execution of deliverables. You also support functional leaders with prioritization and development of high quality, integrated cross-functional project plans and facilitate implementation.

Ln this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Apply project management standard methodologies in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects
  • Collaborate with the project management team to establish effective operational protocols for risk management, task execution and communications to team members.
  • Develop and complete integrated project plans, identify rate limiting factors and key dependencies
  • Maintain program specific timelines and deliverables, including critical program, financial and communication achievements, in Smartsheet and/or other project management applications
  • Develop tracking dashboards and alerts to identify any critical issues that can delay or impact program; work with program leads to develop mitigation plans
  • Lead and coordinate decision-making, collaboration and problem-solving with people at all levels of the organization to accomplish shared program goals
  • Act as cross-functional liaison to ensure project plans remain aligned with current business or alliance strategies
  • Prioritize, organize and facilitate team agendas, meetings and presentations; generate and distribute meeting minutes and other communications
  • Leae project authorizations, scope of work, and key assumptions underpinning the project
  • Work with finance to manage project budgeting process and monitor project spend
  • Support annual reporting and audit management as needed; provide input to the portfolio prioritization process and participate in other key strategic business decisions, as necessary and develop partner business plans or other activities to support the advancement of the partnership if necessary

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a minimum of 12 years of pharmaceutical drug development experience,
  • Proven experience in at least two of the following areas: clinical development, drug development, product commercialization, or project management in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry
  • Hands-on experience with and knowledge of such principles as GMP, FDA guidelines
  • Demonstrated successful experience influencing teams, both internal and cross-company, in a matrix management environment
  • Working knowledge and experience with project planning software, such as MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Master's or PhD is preferred
  • Proven experience in Project Management and knowledge of best practices; PMP certification preferred
  • Experience in project or alliance management is desirable, or managing high level cross functional teams or other external relationships

The most likely base pay range for this position is $139K - $208K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
