Role Description and Responsibilities

The Scientific Visualization team extends the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot system to create broadly applicable systems for scientific visualization with a focus on web-based molecular modeling and graphics. Specifically, the Scientific Visualization team works on developing and integrating new scientific visualization functionality.

As a Scientific Visualization Intern, you will help build scientific visualization applications for life sciences and materials sciences customers. You will work with a senior developer on the team.

Potential projects will center on two aspects. 1) Allowing the user to customize 3D molecular content appearance and making it sharable as 3D data, videos, or images. 2) Allowing users to visualize and interact with biological sequences.

* Development and integration of new scientific visualization functionality into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and Pipeline Pilot.

* Working with the Quality Assurance team to ensure good automated test coverage of all newly developed functionality

* Participating with Product Management and customer-facing teams to contribute ideas for new features and product direction

* Creating and presenting a 30-minute summary of your internship achievements

Qualifications

* Previous software development experience.

* Knowledge of structural bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.

* Proficient in a programming language such as TypeScript, C++, Java.

* Knowledge of Computer Graphics beneficial.

* Knowledge of User Interface development beneficial.

This paid internship is on-site at our San Diego, CA office with a flexible start date. You will be expected to follow a hybrid work model.

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $22 and $40 per hour.
