Job Summary
The Director at the University of Michigan-Flint's Early Childhood Development Center, in collaboration with Center staff and participating families, provides an early childcare and education program that supports excellence in learning. The Director is responsible for assuring that the program's curriculum and teaching are carried out in accordance with the Center's philosophy while being fiscally responsible. The Director provides support and guidance in documentation for Child Care Licensing, Great Start to Quality, and National Accreditation, and provides supervision and mentorship for staff working with children. In addition, the Director will supervise all aspects of the program to provide a high-quality, Reggio Emilia inspired program for young children, along with college students, faculty, staff, and the community.
The Director reports to the Dean or their designated person.

Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes here.
Background Screening
The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks. Background checks are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
